Lead Engineer Contract Inside IR35 London, UK - Hybrid Job description: We are looking for a highly skilled Java Developer with strong expertise in AWS cloud services, Banking/Financial Services domain, and experience with service mesh technologies like Istio. The ideal candidate will play a key role in building scalable, secure, and high-performance applications in a modern cloud-native environment. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level applications using Java (Spring Boot). • Develop and deploy microservices on AWS using services like EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc. • Work within Agile/Scrum teams and contribute to all phases of the SDLC. • Implement and manage Istio service mesh for microservices observability, security, and traffic management. • Collaborate with architects and DevOps teams to ensure CI/CD and cloud-native best practices. • Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and production issue resolution. • Ensure compliance with banking security and regulatory standards. Required Skills: • Strong programming skills in Java 8+ (Spring Boot, REST APIs). • Hands-on experience with AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, etc.). • Experience in the Banking or Financial Services domain is a must. • Knowledge of Istio for service mesh configuration and management. • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions). • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
