Job Responsibilities:
Development & Configuration:
Customize and enhance PolicyCenter workflows, entities, business rules, and user interfaces using Gosu, PCF, and Guidewire Studio.
Develop reusable components and frameworks to accelerate future development efforts.
Integration:
Design, develop, and maintain integrations with external systems (BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, third-party services) using APIs, web services (SOAP/REST), and messaging queues.
Ensure robust and secure data exchange across platforms.
Requirements & Design:
Collaborate with business stakeholders and analysts to analyze requirements and translate business needs into scalable technical designs.
Create and maintain detailed design and configuration documentation.
Collaboration:
Work closely with architects, QA, business analysts, and other developers within Agile teams (participate in sprints, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).
Mentor and guide junior developers, sharing best practices and technical expertise.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct unit, integration, and system testing, ensuring solutions meet functional and performance requirements.
Perform code reviews, optimize application performance, and enforce coding standards.
Support:
Provide production support for PolicyCenter applications, including troubleshooting, defect resolution, and root cause analysis.
Support release management and deployment activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelorβs degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
8+ years of experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter development and integration.
Demonstrated leadership in technical delivery and team collaboration.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Must be onsite at least 2 days/week in Worcester, Massachusetts
Key Skills & Technologies:
Guidewire Suite:
Deep expertise in PolicyCenter, Gosu programming, Guidewire Studio, and PCF configuration.
Programming:
Proficient in Java and Gosu.
Experience developing and consuming web services (SOAP/REST).
Tools:
Jira (user stories, sprint planning, defect tracking)
Git/Bitbucket (version control)
Ant, Maven, Gradle (build automation)
SOAP UI, Postman (API testing)
Concepts:
Strong understanding of P&C insurance domain and data modeling.
Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
Knowledge of integration patterns and scalable solution design.
Preferred Skills:
Guidewire certifications (PolicyCenter, Integration) are a plus.
Experience with other Guidewire modules (BillingCenter, ClaimCenter).
Prior experience in insurance or financial services domains.
