We are looking for Lead Power BI Developer for our client in Torrance, CA Job Title: Lead Power BI Developer Job Location: Torrance, CA Job Type: Contract Job Description: Pay Range: $55hr - $60hr • The Lead Power BI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-level BI solutions using Microsoft Power BI and related technologies. • This role requires strong analytical skills, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable BI solutions. • The candidate will lead dashboard development, data modeling, integration, automation, and governance initiatives. Requirement/Must Have: • Strong experience with Microsoft Power BI (Desktop and Service). • Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), data modeling, and visualization best practices. • Strong SQL experience including joins, stored procedures, and views. • Experience connecting to enterprise data sources such as SQL Server, ADF, Databricks, Snowflake, Excel, and APIs. • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and BI architecture. • Ability to analyze complex datasets and deliver actionable business insights. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience: • Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models. • Experience building tabular or multidimensional models aligned with data warehouse standards. • Experience developing and maintaining ETL processes and data transformation pipelines. • Experience implementing row-level security, performance tuning, and dataset optimization. • Experience publishing reports to Power BI Service and managing gateways and workspaces. • Experience collaborating with business teams and leadership to gather and translate requirements. • Experience delivering demos, presentations, and executive insights. Responsibilities: • Design, develop, test, and deploy Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models based on business requirements. • Create DAX calculations, calculated columns, and measures to support complex analytics. • Build tabular or multidimensional models following data warehouse standards. • Develop and maintain data pipelines, data transformations, and cleansing routines. • Connect Power BI to various enterprise data sources including SQL Server, Excel, cloud platforms, APIs, Snowflake, ADF, and Databricks. • Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) for reporting datasets. • Implement row-level security and optimize datasets and reports for performance. • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and define BI architecture. • Provide demos, presentations, and insights to support operational and strategic decisions. • Publish reports to Power BI Service, configure gateways, schedule refreshes, and manage workspaces. • Support governance, documentation, metadata management, and version control. • Build Power Apps and integrate with BI solutions when required. • Use Power Automate for workflow automation. • Develop automation scripts using Python or VBA for data preparation and internal tooling. Good to Have: • Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Microsoft Dataverse. • Knowledge of Azure services such as ADF, Databricks, and Synapse, or other cloud data platforms. • Experience with Python scripting, VBA automation, and advanced Excel modeling. • Experience working in Agile environments with DevOps and CI/CD for analytics solutions. • Experience embedding Power BI into applications using APIs. Qualification And Education: • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
