Role description
Job Title – Lead Power BI & Fabric Architect Location – Remote USA Duration – Long term Note : Visa Independent candidate are encouraged to apply. Job Description: We are seeking a high-caliber Power BI Architect to lead our data visualization strategy and spearhead our transition into Microsoft Fabric. This isn't just a "report building" roleβ€”we need a visionary who understands the plumbing of a modern data estate, from low-level DAX optimization to high-level tenant administration and governance. As our Architect, you will be the bridge between complex data engineering and executive-level insights, ensuring our Fabric ecosystem is performant, secure, and scalable. Technical Requirements β€’ Core Expertise: 7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, with at least 4 years focused exclusively on the Power BI stack. Key Responsibilities β€’ Legacy BI Deconstruction: Lead the strategic migration of reports, universes (Business Objects), and dossiers (Microstrategy) to Power BI semantic models. You will decide when to "lift and shift" versus when to "refactor and rethink." β€’ Fabric Ecosystem Leadership: Architect and implement end-to-end solutions within Microsoft Fabric, leveraging OneLake, Lakehouses, and Warehouses. β€’ Optimization Master: Ensure peak performance by utilizing Direct Lake mode. You must be an expert in V-Order compression, Delta Lake optimization, and DAX efficiency to ensure reports render in seconds, regardless of scale. β€’ Advanced Semantic Modeling: Design complex, high-performance Star Schemas and composite models. You should be an expert in managing "Big Data" within Power BI without sacrificing UI responsiveness. β€’ Performance Tuning: Conduct deep-dive optimizations using tools like DAX Studio, VertiPaq Analyzer, and Tabular Editor 3. You'll be responsible for reducing refresh times and improving query speeds. β€’ Tenant Administration & Governance: Oversee Power BI Service administration, including capacity management (F-SKUs/P-SKUs), workspace security, deployment pipelines, and gateway configurations. β€’ Direct Lake & Connectivity: Implement and optimize "Direct Lake" mode to provide real-time insights without the overhead of traditional Import or DirectQuery latencies. β€’ Standards & Best Practices: Establish enterprise-wide COE (Center of Excellence) standards for DAX patterns, UI/UX design, and CI/CD integration with Git.
