Lead Python Developer (Derivatives/Fixed Income) - Front Office Focus | NY/NJ Hybrid Are you a highly experienced Python Developer (10+ years) with a passion for building high-performance solutions in Derivatives and Fixed Income? Join our IT team to design, implement, and support critical Front Office trading applications. This is a Hybrid role based in the NY/NJ area, requiring a few days onsite each week. πŸš€ The Opportunity You will be a key member of the Derivatives/Fixed Income IT team, responsible for the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle. This role requires technical mastery in Python and a strong ability to collaborate directly with Traders and Quantitative Analysts to enhance trading desk productivity. You will be working with cutting-edge vendor technologies, including PyXLL, QuestDB, ArconTech, and Databricks. πŸ’» What You'll Be Doing (Key Duties) β€’ Design & Build: Design, build, and configure robust Python applications aligned with front office business processes and application requirements. β€’ Stakeholder Collaboration: Actively collaborate with trading and quantitative analysts to understand complex workflows, gather requirements, and ensure application features enhance their productivity. β€’ Architecture Leadership: Develop and document coding architecture for new applications, ensuring solutions are efficient, modular, and adhere to best practices. β€’ Code Quality & DevOps: Maintain and enhance code quality using static/dynamic analysis, security scans, code coverage, and CI/CD pipeline gating. β€’ Support & Optimization: Provide technical support for existing applications, including troubleshooting, performance optimization, and implementing bug fixes. β€’ SDLC Ownership: Participate in all phases of the software delivery lifecycle, from initial analysis and design through development, testing, and post-deployment support. β€’ Project Management: Provide accurate work estimates (time, resources, and risks) to project managers. βœ… What You'll Bring (Required Skills) β€’ 10+ years of experience as a highly experienced Python Developer. β€’ Proficiency with Python environment installation and configuration in both Windows and Linux operating systems. β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. ⭐ Highly Preferred Skills (The Edge) β€’ Experience supporting Front Office Trading Desks (Derivatives, Fixed Income, or similar financial instruments). β€’ Familiarity with vendor software like PyXLL, QuestDB, ArconTech, or Databricks. β€’ Experience with .NET and C#. β€’ Hands-on experience with REST APIs, including enterprise authentication and authorization protocols. β€’ Experience with database technologies such as MS SQL Server and/or Sybase.
