Role description
As part of a cross-functional Agile squad, chapter, and Agile Release Train (ART), the Lead Quality Engineer provides leadership and guidance within the Quality Engineering discipline. This role ensures delivery quality through strategic test planning, automation best practices, and mentoring team members. The Lead QE partners with product owners, developers, and other QEs to define quality standards, implement robust test strategies, and drive continuous improvement across the squad and tribe.

Contract Length or Perm: 14 months with possible extension
Years of Experience: 3-20 years

Responsibilities
What you will be doing:
β’ Leading quality engineering efforts for an Agile squad and collaborating with QE Practice and ART.
β’ Owning test strategy, planning, and execution for complex features and integrations.
β’ Designing and implementing scalable, maintainable test automation frameworks for UI, API, and end-to-end testing.
β’ Driving adoption of continuous testing practices within CI/CD pipelines.
β’ Performing exploratory testing and guiding others in risk-based testing approaches.
β’ Mentoring QEs and developers on quality best practices and automation techniques.
β’ Ensuring compliance with organizational quality governance standards.
β’ Collaborating with stakeholders to identify quality metrics and report progress.

MUST HAVE SKILLS:
β’ Active Directory
β’ Experience in testing in Identity and Authorization space (PING, OKTA, etc.)
β’ Okta
β’ PING
What you should have:
β’ 6β10 years of experience in Quality Engineering
β’ Proven expertise in test automation using languages like Java, JavaScript, or Python.
β’ Strong experience with API testing, UI automation, and integration testing.
β’ Familiarity with tools like GitHub, GitLab CI/Jenkins, and test management platforms.
β’ Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and SAFe framework.
β’ Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
What will make you stand out:
β’ Experience testing in Identity and Authorization space (PING, OKTA, etc.)
β’ Experience with WebdriverIO or Playwright.
β’ Knowledge of performance and accessibility testing.
β’ Exposure to cloud technologies and containerized environments.
β’ Quality Engineering certifications (ISTQB, SAFe QE, etc.).
β’ Experience driving quality initiatives at scale across multiple squads.
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
