Lead Snowflake Data Engineer

Client: Ally Bank Location: Detroit, MI – Local Candidates Only | Onsite Rate: $70/hr C2C Visa: H1B Only Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer / Technical Lead with strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake, DataStage, and dbt (mandatory). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data warehousing, data modeling, ETL/ELT, AWS data services, and customer-facing technical leadership. Key Responsibilities • Lead end-to-end data engineering and data warehousing projects using Snowflake, DataStage, and dbt. • Design scalable data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and Snowflake data architecture. • Develop and optimize dbt models and transformations. • Work with AWS services including Aurora, RDS, DMS, and DynamoDB. • Develop and optimize SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL queries. • Implement CDC and real-time data integration solutions. • Drive data quality, governance, security, and performance best practices. • Gather requirements, handle CRs, and provide technical solution designs. • Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams. • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance. Mandatory Requirements • 10–13 years of Data Engineering / Data Warehousing / Data Modeling experience. • Expert-level Snowflake, DataStage, and dbt – Mandatory. • Strong AWS data services experience: Aurora, RDS, DMS, DynamoDB. • Strong Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL, and database performance optimization. • Strong ETL/ELT, Data Integration, Data Architecture, and Dimensional Modeling experience. • Experience with customer handling, requirement gathering, and solution design. • Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
