Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Developer with expertise in Life Insurance and Annuity systems to support and enable critical system conversion projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in COBOL, extensive experience with database management (DB2, SQL), and proven experience in ETL processes, along with a track record in Policy Administration conversions. This role is essential for ensuring the successful transition and integration of systems within our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• System Conversion Support: Lead and assist in the conversion of Policy Administration systems, ensuring accurate migration of data and functionality.
• Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain software applications utilizing COBOL, focusing on Life Insurance and Annuity products.
• Database Management: Manage and optimize databases, specifically DB2 and SQL, to ensure data integrity, performance, and security throughout the conversion process.
• ETL Processes: Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data efficiently between systems, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project stakeholders to gather requirements, design technical solutions, and implement system enhancements.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to applications, databases, and ETL processes during and after conversion.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of technical specifications, conversion processes, and system changes for compliance and future reference.
• Industry Best Practices: Stay informed on industry trends and best practices related to Life Insurance and Annuity systems and conversions.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory is important for this role, as you'll be responsible for designing and implementing data integration solutions."
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software development, specifically with Life Insurance and Annuity systems.
• Proficiency in COBOL, with hands-on experience in legacy system integration and modernization.
• Strong expertise in database management and development, particularly with DB2 and SQL.
• Demonstrated experience in ETL processes and tools, with a focus on data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Proven experience in Policy Administration conversions, including data migration and system integration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
