GeBBS Consulting, a leader in Healthcare Technology solutions, has an immediate opening for a Life Sciences Data Integration Project Analyst to support a major Life Sciences partner in the Foster City, CA region. Candidates which can be on-site at our partnerβs Foster City, CA facility will be given priority over remote candidates.
Position Description:
We are supporting the launch of a large-scale life sciences data integration initiative to connect more than 600 laboratory instruments into a modernized ecosystem using Tetrascience and Benchling. This program will standardize scientific terminology, enable seamless data capture from a diverse array of lab equipment, and drive adoption of new tools and processes across research and quality operations.
The project begins with a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) connecting an initial set of instruments, followed by phased integration throughout 2025 and into 2026. The work requires professionals who can operate at the intersection of science, technology, and organizational change β partnering with scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver a robust, scalable solution.
What Youβll Get to Do:
β’ Partner with scientific and technical teams to capture, analyze, and document business and system requirements for laboratory data integrations.
β’ Develop and maintain scientific ontologies, controlled vocabularies, and standardized taxonomies to unify terminology across research disciplines, with a focus on oncology.
β’ Collaborate with IT and lab systems teams to ensure data structures align with LIMS/ELN platforms and support consistent enterprise-wide usage.
β’ Drive organizational change management efforts, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and overcoming adoption barriers.
β’ Contribute to the stand-up of DevOps processes that will support continuous integration, deployment, and operational improvements for the program.
β’ Inventory and categorize laboratory instruments, determine optimal connectivity methods (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, RS-232), and ensure reliable data flow into enterprise systems.
β’ Troubleshoot technical connectivity issues, working closely with integration developers to configure APIs, data ingestion pipelines, and workflows.
β’ Produce high-quality documentation, including technical specifications, process flows, training materials, and status reporting.
Youβll Bring these Qualifications:
β’ Professional experience in the life sciences industry, ideally within laboratory, research, or quality-controlled environments.
β’ Familiarity with LIMS/ELN platforms, with Benchling and/or Tetrascience strongly preferred.
β’ Proven ability to engage with both scientific and technical stakeholders in fast-paced, high-profile projects.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
β’ Business analysis expertise in scientific environments, including requirement gathering, process documentation, and stakeholder facilitation.
β’ Knowledge of ontology development and tools such as SciBite or ElSevier; oncology research terminology a plus.
β’ Experience leading or supporting organizational change management initiatives.
β’ Awareness of DevOps principles, pipelines, and CI/CD practices.
β’ Laboratory IT engineering background, with knowledge of diverse instrumentation, connectivity methods, and data acquisition formats (flat file, database, API).
β’ Ability to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and integration issues between lab instruments and enterprise systems.
