Job Title: Machine Learning Data Scientist Location: South San Francisco, CA - Hybrid Schedule, Onsite 3 days per week Pay: $30-63 hourly (W2!), depending on experience level Contract: 12-months, potential for extension/conversion Job Description: • Our Digital Strategy & Products (DS&P) team is looking for a curious and motivated Entry-level Data Analyst to join us. • Help ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across different systems. • Uphold data governance standards, ensuring that access to potentially sensitive information is appropriately managed. • Analyze diverse data sources—including survey, sensor, and attendance metrics—to identify trends, patterns, and insights. • Perform Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) and feature engineering to prepare complex datasets for deeper analysis. • Contribute to the design, implementation, and validation of predictive models using machine learning and statistical techniques (e.g., regression, classification). • Write basic to intermediate SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from relational databases. • Learn and apply new analytical methods to enhance model performance and generate actionable insights. • Utilize Git/GitHub for code version control and collaborative development with team members. • Assist in building, maintaining, and sharing dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, R Shiny, ThoughtSpot, and/or G Suite. • Present findings and insights to client and internal audiences. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Psychology, or another field with a focus on analytics and measurement, OR 1+ years of professional experience in the pharma, biotech, or medical device industry. • Academic or project-based experience applying core Machine Learning algorithms (e.g., Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Decision Trees) using libraries like scikit-learn. • Familiarity with cloud computing environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) or querying with SQL. • Programming skills in a language like R or Python for data analysis. • Experience creating dashboards or visualizations with tools like Tableau and/or ThoughtSpot.
