Job Title: Machine Learning Data Scientist
Location: South San Francisco, CA - Hybrid Schedule, Onsite 3 days per week
Pay: $30-63 hourly (W2!), depending on experience level
Contract: 12-months, potential for extension/conversion
Job Description:
β’ Our Digital Strategy & Products (DS&P) team is looking for a curious and motivated Entry-level Data Analyst to join us.
β’ Help ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across different systems.
β’ Uphold data governance standards, ensuring that access to potentially sensitive information is appropriately managed.
β’ Analyze diverse data sourcesβincluding survey, sensor, and attendance metricsβto identify trends, patterns, and insights.
β’ Perform Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) and feature engineering to prepare complex datasets for deeper analysis.
β’ Contribute to the design, implementation, and validation of predictive models using machine learning and statistical techniques (e.g., regression, classification).
β’ Write basic to intermediate SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from relational databases.
β’ Learn and apply new analytical methods to enhance model performance and generate actionable insights.
β’ Utilize Git/GitHub for code version control and collaborative development with team members.
β’ Assist in building, maintaining, and sharing dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau, R Shiny, ThoughtSpot, and/or G Suite.
β’ Present findings and insights to client and internal audiences.
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Psychology, or another field with a focus on analytics and measurement, OR 1+ years of professional experience in the pharma, biotech, or medical device industry.
β’ Academic or project-based experience applying core Machine Learning algorithms (e.g., Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Decision Trees) using libraries like scikit-learn.
β’ Familiarity with cloud computing environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) or querying with SQL.
β’ Programming skills in a language like R or Python for data analysis.
β’ Experience creating dashboards or visualizations with tools like Tableau and/or ThoughtSpot.
