Job Title: Machine Learning Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and highly motivated Machine Learning Engineer Engineer to join our Manufacturing Project Innovation Center. The ideal candidate will support the Production Engineering Division's goal of enhancing manufacturing competitiveness. This role involves designing and implementing computer vision models, accelerating training cycles with advanced techniques, and developing new technologies to improve manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
β’ Design and implement computer vision models for defect detection, segmentation, and classification.
β’ Accelerate training cycles using synthetic data, active learning, and domain randomization.
β’ Package models and manage deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
β’ Optimize inference for edge and embedded hardware to meet real-time latency requirements.
β’ Integrate vision systems with PLCs and industrial networks using OPC-UA, MQTT, and REST protocols.
β’ Lead data collection campaigns and establish quality gates for model validation.
β’ Ensure uptime and availability through proactive monitoring and calibration.
β’ Develop and deploy production-grade machine learning models for industrial vision inspection systems.
β’ Lead and manage projects from concept to launch, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
β’ Collaborate closely with internal and external groups to integrate robust AI solutions into manufacturing environments.
Essential Skills
β’ 5 years of experience in Machine Vision & Edge AI development.
β’ Proficiency in Python and C++.
β’ Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
β’ Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
β’ Familiarity with ONNX Runtime and optimization for embedded hardware.
β’ Experience integrating vision systems with PLCs and industrial protocols.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
β’ Masterβs Degree in Engineering or related fields.
β’ Academic research experience in new technology.
β’ Experience in project management involving internal and external parties.
β’ Experience deploying automotive production equipment.
β’ Experience in Robotics, including operation, teaching, maintenance, and safety.
β’ Expertise in synthetic data generation techniques and domain randomization.
