Company Description
Weβre a stealth-stage startup building an AI-powered application layer solution for the healthcare industry. Our mission is to solve high-friction, manual workflows in clinical operations, starting with a targeted product that leverages LLMs and rules-based logic to automate specialized, compliance-heavy tasks for providers.
This is a unique opportunity to build alongside an operator and investor with a background in healthcare, SaaS, and venture investing. Weβre building for real workflows, real users, and real value creation from Day 1.
Role Description
Weβre looking for a part-time, Birmingham-based engineer whoβs excited to get in on the ground floor. Youβll work closely with the founder to translate product vision into technical execution. Expect to collaborate weekly in person, iterate quickly, and help build the technical foundation of the company.
This Role is Ideal For
β’ Entrepreneurial and excited about the 0-to-1 stage of building
β’ Located in Birmingham, Alabama and available for regular in-person working sessions
β’ Open to part-time work (10β15 hrs/week) paid per deliverable, with equity upside
β’ Interested in potentially joining full-time in the future as a founding team member
What You'll Do
β’ Build out the MVP using modern no-code/low-code tools and APIs (e.g. Retool, GPT APIs, Azure, Google Sheets, etc.)
β’ Assist in building the backend logic for structured data parsing, workflow management, and output generation
β’ Implement secure, scalable methods to process sensitive healthcare data (e.g. PHI compliance with HIPAA/SOC 2 frameworks)
β’ Contribute to discussions around product architecture, feature prioritization, and roadmap planning
β’ Work with the founder to transition from MVP to a production-ready version in the first 4β6 months
What We're Looking For
β’ Strong technical builder with experience in web app development, ideally with exposure to AI/LLM APIs, Retool/other no-code tools, or automation platforms
β’ A proactive communicator who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
β’ Passionate about healthcare, AI, or solving messy operational problems through software
β’ Bonus: experience with healthcare data workflows, clinical systems, or HIPAA-compliant architectures
Why Join Now
β’ Opportunity to own meaningful equity early in the company lifecycle
β’ Help define the technical vision from the ground up
β’ Join a mission-driven, healthcare-focused startup solving real-world pain points
β’ Grow into a long-term leadership role as the company scales, with additional equity upside
