Title: Machine Learning Engineer — GenAI / LLM Applications Location: Brooklyn Park, MN (Hybrid) Job Type: Contract (4 Months) Compensation: $82.71 - $112.78/hr (W2) Industry: Retail Key Skills: GenAI, Machine Learning, Python, LLMs, prompt engineering, evaluation techniques About The Role We are partnering with a large, technology-driven organization in the consumer and retail sector to hire a Machine Learning Engineer who will help build and scale advanced machine learning and Generative AI solutions. This role focuses on developing production-ready models and LLM-powered applications that support intelligent products, automation, and data-driven decision-making across a complex enterprise environment. Job Description In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy machine learning and GenAI solutions that operate at scale in production environments. You will work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to translate business needs into end-to-end ML solutions, while ensuring high standards for code quality, performance, and reliability. • Design, build, and deploy scalable machine learning and Generative AI solutions • Develop LLM-powered applications, including prompt design, evaluation, and optimization • Apply supervised and unsupervised learning techniques to solve real-world business problems • Build and maintain production-grade Python code using best practices for testing and maintainability • Work within standard software development lifecycle processes, including version control, CI/CD, and code reviews • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions • Clearly communicate technical concepts, tradeoffs, and results to technical and non-technical stakeholders Qualifications Required Qualifications • Portfolio or Code Sample Required All candidates must submit a portfolio, GitHub repository, or code sample demonstrating relevant data science, machine learning, or GenAI work. • Generative AI / LLM Development • Hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying GenAI or LLM-based applications in production • Strong understanding of prompt engineering, evaluation methods, and performance tradeoffs • Production Machine Learning Engineering • Proven experience deploying and maintaining production machine learning systems • Strong proficiency in Python with an emphasis on clean, testable, and maintainable code • Experience working within standard SDLC practices, including version control, CI/CD, and peer code reviews • Machine Learning & Statistical Foundations • Solid grounding in supervised and unsupervised learning methods • Ability to select and apply appropriate algorithms for real-world business problems • Cross-Functional Collaboration • Experience working with software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders • Demonstrated ability to deliver solutions end-to-end in a collaborative team environment Preferred Qualifications • Experience working with complex or unstructured data, such as text documents, images, or multimodal inputs • Familiarity with modern ML and GenAI frameworks and libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face) • Experience applying machine learning or AI solutions in a business, e-commerce, or retail-related context • Exposure to retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), including multi-modal RAG architectures • Background in image processing or computer vision Benefits Dahl Consulting is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees that will allow you to choose the best coverage to meet your family’s needs.
