Role description
Position: Research Collaborator – STEM PhD
Type: W2 | Contingent Role
Location: Remote
Role Responsibilities
• Design challenging, real-world benchmark tasks in domains such as data science, machine learning, finance, and programming.
• Integrate designed tasks into an agentic development environment using Python.
• Evaluate cross-model performance on benchmark tasks to assess model reasoning and problem-solving ability.
• Identify cases where the target model fails to pass defined tests and benchmarks.
• Analyze agent trajectories to understand model decision-making processes and extract capability gaps.
• Contribute to improving AI model performance across complex STEM problem-solving scenarios.
Requirements
• Strong expertise in data science, machine learning, finance, or software development.
• Deep technical background in advanced STEM topics.
• PhD student or recent PhD graduate from a top-tier institution is preferred.
• Availability to work 30+ hours per week during weekdays.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience working with complex technical systems or AI model evaluation environments.
