Machine Learning Engineer
Salary: $75.00 to $90.00 hourly
Description
Robert Half is seeking a skilled Machine Learning Engineer with advanced data science expertise to support a short-term initiative focused on enhancing operational efficiency through predictive modeling. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects under the Command Center, integrating ML solutions across multiple platforms.
Location: Remote - must be available during core PST business hours
Contract Duration: Short-term
Responsibilities
• Develop and refine machine learning models:
• Train regression models for dwell time prediction
• Train classification models for renomination prediction
• Containerize applications for scalable, real-time predictions
• Deploy models using AWS Lambda and integrate into production pipelines
• Collaborate on CI/CD workflows (in partnership with a Jenkins resource)
• Conduct performance analysis and suggest operational thresholds
• Deliver thorough documentation of modeling approaches and deployment
• Lead knowledge transfer sessions with internal technical teams
• Support the integration of ML solutions with the company’s data warehouse and perform regression testing
Requirements
• Advanced expertise in Python for data science and ML applications
• Proven experience in regression and classification modeling
• Hands-on experience with containerization tools (e.g., Docker) and AWS Lambda
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, especially Jenkins
• Understanding of the shipping/logistics domain (preferred)
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Experience using Confluence for documentation
Nice To Have
• Experience with real-time or event-driven architecture
• Exposure to working with cross-platform integrations
• Familiarity with existing ML model optimization and regression testing
