Job Title: Algorithm Developer (ML Engineer)

Location: Remote

Duration: 08 months contract with potential extension for longer term

Job Description

   • Adapt standard machine learning methods leveraging modern parallel environments (e.g., distributed clusters, multicore SMP, and GPU).

   • Develop highly scalable classifiers and tools leveraging machine learning, data regression, and rules-based models.

   • Suggest, collect, and synthesize requirements from cross-functional (XFN) teams.

   • Code deliverables in tandem with the engineering team.

Minimum Qualifications

   • 6+ years of experience in software engineering or a relevant field (3+ years with a PhD).

   • 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, recommendation systems, pattern recognition, data mining, artificial intelligence, or a related technical field.

   • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Hack.

   • Experience developing machine learning models at scale—from inception to business impact.

   • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PHP, and/or shell scripts.

   • Experience building and shipping high-quality work with high reliability.

   • Proven track record of successful cross-functional partnerships.

   • Experience improving quality through thoughtful code reviews, appropriate testing, proper rollout, monitoring, and proactive changes.

   • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

   • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or another ML-related field.

   • Exposure to architectural patterns of large-scale software applications.

   • Experience with frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.

   • Proficiency in C++ preferred.

Years of Experience

   • 6+ years of experience in software engineering or a relevant field.

   • 3+ years of experience if holding a PhD.

Must-Have Skills

   • 5+ years of consistent, industry-level experience working as a Machine Learning Engineer, with exposure to AI and Generative AI (GenAI).

   • Strong experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Hack.

   • Experience developing machine learning models at scale from inception to business impact.

   • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration.

   • Proven ability to improve code quality through rigorous code reviews, testing, rollouts, monitoring, and maintenance.

Nice-to-Have Skills

   • Experience at a large tech company.

   • Familiarity with architectural patterns of large-scale software applications.

   • Experience using ML frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.

   • Proficiency in C++ is preferred.
