Role description
Job Summary Our client is seeking aΒ Machine Learning Engineer/AI Engineer to join their team! This position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining knowledge-based or artificial intelligence application systems. The individual should ensure that information is converted into a format that is digestible and easy for end users to access the information and utilize it optimally. This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role. Core Responsibilities β€’ Designs and writes complex code in several languages relevant to our existing product stack, with a focus on automation β€’ Configures, tunes, maintains and installs applications systems and validates system functionality β€’ Monitors and fine tunes applications system to achieve optimum performance levels and works with hardware teams to resolve issues with hardware and software β€’ Develops and maintains department's knowledge database containing enterprise issues and possible resolutions β€’ Develops models of task problem domain for which a system will be designed or built β€’ Uses models, hypotheses, and cognitive analysis techniques to elicit real problem-solving knowledge from the experts β€’ Mediates between the expert and knowledge base; encodes for the knowledge base β€’ Acts as subject matter expert for difficult or complex application problems requiring interpretation of AI tools and principles β€’ Researches and prepares reports and studies on various aspects of knowledge acquisition, modeling, management, and presentation β€’ Develops and maintains processes, procedures, models, and templates for collecting and organizing knowledge into specialized knowledge representation programs β€’ Acts as vendor liaison for products and services to support development tools β€’ Maintains the definition, documentation, training, testing, and activation of Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Planning to meet compliance standards β€’ Maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation to ensure data integrity β€’ Acts to improve the overall reliability of systems and to increase efficiency β€’ Works collaboratively with cross functional teams, using Agile / DevOps principles to bring products to life, achieve business objectives and serve customer needs Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves) β€’ Strong proficiency in Python β€’ Hands-on experience with LLMs and prompt engineering β€’ Expertise in Azure OpenAI SDKs, APIs, and deployment strategies β€’ Knowledge of agentic systems and Model Context Protocol (MCP) β€’ Familiarity with cloud integration, REST APIs, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves) β€’ Experience with enterprise AI applications and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) β€’ Understanding of vector databases and data pipelines β€’ Knowledge of security and compliance in AI systems Key Competencies & Behaviors β€’ Collaborative Partnership β€’ Problem-Solving & Analytical Thinking β€’ Continuous Learning & Innovation Work Environment β€’ Location:Β Englewood, CO β€’ Hybrid Compensation & Benefits β€’ Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $70.00Β and $87.00.
