Role description
We are looking for a junior level ML/MV engineer (0-4 years experience). The details of ideal skills are listed below. This person will be working under a senior ML engineer and taking on significant responsibilities, and expected to work independent with their work capable of being integrated into the larger team's. Core Technical Skills • Strong Python skills (NumPy, Pandas, OpenCV, scikit-learn) • Familiar with PyTorch or TensorFlow/Keras • Experience in computer vision: classification, detection, segmentation • Understanding of model training, tuning, regularization • Knowledge of evaluation metrics: precision, recall, F1, confusion matrix, ROC/AUC Dataset & Data Management • Skilled in dataset curation, cleaning, Quality Assurance • Know annotation tools/formats (COCO, Pascal VOC, YOLO, etc.) • Understand train/test/validation splits and class imbalance management • Basic data versioning and reproducibility Machine Vision • Exposure to image preprocessing: resize, normalize, augment • Familiarity with architectures (CNNs, YOLO, ResNet) • Understanding of imaging system parameters' effect on models is a plus Software & Collaboration • Version control • Experience with structured ML projects (notebooks/scripts) • Able to document work and communicate to diverse audiences Education • Bachelor's in CS, Data Science, Engineering, or related field required • Coursework/projects in CV, ML, or image processing is a strong plus EOE Statement: Specialist Staffing Group is an equal opportunity employer.
