Role description
We are seeking a highly skilled MRF (Machine Readable Files) Engineer with strong healthcare claims experience to support critical CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) cost transparency mandates. This role will play a key part in rewriting and enhancing our existing MRF processes as we transition from Version 1.0 (implemented July 2023) to Version 2.0 (go-live October 2025, production deadline February 2026).
About the Role
The ideal candidate is a senior-level engineer with deep experience in Python, Java, and healthcare/claims data processing. You will collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance, scalability, and timely delivery of mandated updates.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain MRF (Machine Readable File) processing pipelines aligned with CMS cost transparency requirements.
• Lead the rewrite of current processes in preparation for CMS 2.0 mandate.
• Collaborate with claims and healthcare data teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and scalability.
• Implement automated build, test, and deployment pipelines using GitHub and Jenkins.
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and security remediation for Java/Spring Boot applications.
• Partner with infrastructure teams on deployments across AWS, Kubernetes, or OpenShift environments.
• Ensure high code quality through unit testing (Swagger, Postman, Bruno).
• Deliver production-ready solutions by February 2026 compliance deadline.
Qualifications
• 9–10 years of Java development (Spring Boot, Spring Framework).
• 5+ years of Python development.
• Strong background in healthcare/claims data and CMS mandates.
• Experience with GitHub and Jenkins.
• Senior-level experience with SDLC, coding standards, and change management.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work independently.
Required Skills
• Spark / PySpark for large-scale data processing.
• Linux shell scripting.
• Experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Familiarity with Kibana, Splunk, or cloud monitoring tools.
• AWS Cloud experience.
• Database experience (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL).
• Security remediation for Spring Boot applications.
Pay range and compensation package
Contract Duration: 6 month+ contract
