Role description
Our client is looking for a Managed Care Data Analyst for a contract scenario. The Managed Care Analyst provides data and analyses, including financial modeling and forecasting, to support administration for affiliates. This role develops periodic reports relating to payer performance, utilization, reimbursement, and other clinical and financial data to assess and monitor payer performance, identifying trends and patterns. Beyond technical proficiency, this position requires strong problem-solving ability and initiative. The successful candidate will be able to articulate core issues, think critically through potential solutions, and work independently without requiring step-by-step direction. This role is best suited for a self-starter who can navigate ambiguity, identify gaps or risks in financial processes, and communicate insights that drive action. Key Responsibilities: • Provide financial modeling, forecasting, and analyses to support organizational decision-making. • Develop and deliver reports on payer performance, utilization, reimbursement, and related data. • Interpret financial results and explain implications, ensuring stakeholders understand not just the numbers but the impact and recommended actions. • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within financial and clinical data and propose process improvements. • Work independently to analyze complex problems, take initiative, and proactively address issues before escalation. • Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to design or improve financial processes and reporting frameworks. Qualifications: • 3 + years of strong analytical thinking and communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. • 3+ years of demonstrated ability to interpret financial ratios and metrics beyond calculation—explaining their significance and guiding follow-up actions. • Experience designing, improving, or streamlining financial processes. • Proven ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and take initiative. • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; advanced degree preferred. • Prior healthcare or managed care experience strongly preferred.
