Only looking for candidates who can work on W2 Strictly no C2C or third-party vendors Job Title: Manager – Data Engineer Client: Leading Retailer Implementation Partner: Publicis Sapient Locations: Pleasanton, CA or Dallas, TX 2-3 days hybrid Employment Type: Contract Start Date: ASAP Interview Process: 1 Internal + 1 Client Round Rates: • Pleasanton, CA: $80 – $90/hr on 1099 • Dallas, TX: $70 – $80/hr on 1099 About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Manager – Data Engineer to lead and scale the data engineering initiatives supporting Retail Media Network (RMN) programs for a leading retail client. This position requires strong hands-on experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies, along with leadership capabilities to guide a team of data engineers in building and optimizing large-scale data infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers in delivering scalable, cloud-native data solutions. • Architect and oversee the development of end-to-end data pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, and GCS. • Design and implement efficient ETL workflows and ensure best practices in data warehousing and event streaming. • Collaborate closely with analytics, media, and product teams to enable Retail Media Network monetization strategies. • Ensure strong data governance, security, and compliance across platforms. • Stay updated with emerging cloud data engineering trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement. Required Skills: • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead or managerial capacity. • Advanced expertise in BigQuery, GCS, Dataflow, and Cloud Composer. • Strong background in ETL, data warehousing, and event-driven architectures. • Proficiency in Python for data automation and orchestration. • Prior experience working with Retail Media Network (RMN) or media monetization data. • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Candidates: • Local to Pleasanton, CA or Dallas, TX (preferred due to onsite collaboration requirements). • Available for ASAP start and open to long-term engagement.
