Job Title: Data Management Technical Project Manager (PM)
Location: REMOTE
Duration: 3 months to start with possible extension
Rate: $50-55/hr
A Data Management Technical Project Manager (PM) drives the lifecycle of data-centric projectsβsuch as data warehousing, pipelines, or migrationβby bridging technical teams (engineers, scientists) with business stakeholders. They manage project, scope, budget, and risks while implementing data strategies for collection, storage, and security.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Client Communication: Be the client SPOC for the data management initiative / initiatives. Manage customer expectations, be the bridge between the client leadership teams and plan / execute successfully.
β’ Project Execution: Plan, lead, and monitor data projects to completion, maintaining timelines and budgets.
β’ Technical Oversight: Oversee data modeling, database design (relational/NoSQL), warehouse infrastructure, and ETL/data pipeline performance.
β’ Stakeholder Management: Translate business needs into technical requirements, ensuring data assets are high-quality and actionable.
β’ Risk & Data Management: Identify project risks, manage data security, and implement data governance standards.
β’ Technical Expertise: Utilize skills in SQL, Python, and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) to guide developers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
β’ Technical Skills: Skilled in SQL, ETL processes, and data technologies (e.g. Databricks, Oracle or similar)
β’ Project Management: Experience with PM methodologies to track project, status, and resource allocation and activities.
β’ Analytical Abilities: Ability to analyze large datasets and translate data into business action.
β’ Communication: Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and manage all client communication on project initiatives.
Common Qualifications
β’ Experience with cloud platforms
β’ Understanding of data lifecycle β data ingestion, data modeling, data governance, security, and quality frameworks.
β’ Familiarity with data visualization tools
