Job title: EUC Engineer Location: Sunnyvale, CA (5 days onsite) The Senior End User Computing (EUC) Engineer is responsible for defining and delivering the strategy, architecture, and transformation of Cepheid’s end-user computing environment. This role focuses on modern workplace technologies, endpoint management, digital experience, virtualization, mobility, identity integration, and automationβ€”ensuring a secure, scalable, and high-performing user environment across a global enterprise. This position is part of the IT Global Infrastructure & Operations team based out of Sunnyvale. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: EUC Strategy & Architecture β€’ Define and own the enterprise EUC architecture roadmap spanning endpoint management, virtual desktops, mobility, collaboration, and digital experience. β€’ Lead modernization initiatives across Windows, macOS, mobile platforms, and virtual desktop environments (VDI/DaaS). β€’ Establish architecture principles for secure, scalable, and user-centric workplace computing aligned with enterprise IT strategy. β€’ Drive alignment with Identity, Security, Network, and Cloud architectures to ensure cohesive end-to-end user experience. Modern Workplace Transformation β€’ Lead transformation programs such as: β€’ Device lifecycle modernization (Autopilot / zero-touch provisioning) β€’ UEM migration (e.g., SCCM β†’ Intune / modern management) β€’ VDI/DaaS optimization (e.g., Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix, VMware Horizon) β€’ Enable hybrid work capabilities with seamless, secure, and high-performance user access from any location. β€’ Drive digital employee experience (DEX) improvements through analytics, telemetry, and automation. Platform Engineering & Endpoint Management β€’ Architect and govern endpoint platforms including: β€’ Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager β€’ SCCM / Configuration Manager (co-management scenarios) β€’ Jamf or macOS management platforms β€’ Define standards for: β€’ OS builds and patch management β€’ Application packaging and deployment β€’ Device compliance and configuration baselines β€’ Enable automation through PowerShell, Graph API, and orchestration frameworks. Identity, Security & Compliance Integration β€’ Partner with security and identity teams to embed: β€’ Zero Trust principles β€’ Conditional Access and device posture enforcement β€’ Endpoint security (Defender, EDR/XDR integration) β€’ Ensure EUC platforms comply with enterprise security, regulatory, and data protection policies. β€’ Drive integration with IAM platforms (Azure AD / Entra ID, MFA, SSO). Application Delivery & User Experience β€’ Architect application delivery models including: β€’ Native install, virtualized apps, and cloud-based SaaS delivery β€’ Optimize application performance and user experience across physical and virtual environments. β€’ Lead self-service enablement via modern catalogs and automation. Operational Excellence & Governance β€’ Define EUC operating model, governance frameworks, and service standards. β€’ Establish KPIs for: β€’ Device health β€’ User experience β€’ Patch compliance β€’ Service performance β€’ Drive continuous improvement, automation, and cost optimization across EUC services. Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership β€’ Partner with Infrastructure, Security, Service Desk, and Business units to align EUC strategy with organizational goals. β€’ Translate technical architecture into business value and measurable outcomes. β€’ Mentor engineers and lead design reviews, technical standards, and best practices. β€’ Communicate risks, dependencies, and roadmap progress to leadership. The essential requirements of the job include: β€’ Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field β€’ 10+ years of experience in End User Computing, Workplace Engineering, or Infrastructure Architecture β€’ Strong expertise in: β€’ Endpoint management (Intune, SCCM, Jamf) β€’ VDI/DaaS platforms (Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix, VMware Horizon) β€’ Identity integration (Azure AD / Entra ID) β€’ Proven experience leading enterprise-scale EUC transformation programs β€’ Deep understanding of: β€’ Modern device management and co-management models β€’ OS lifecycle management, patching, and compliance β€’ Digital workplace and user experience optimization β€’ Strong architectural, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills β€’ Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect technology decisions to business outcomes Preferred Qualifications: β€’ Certifications in: β€’ Microsoft Endpoint Manager / Intune β€’ Azure Solutions Architect / Workplace Analytics β€’ Citrix / VMware EUC certifications β€’ Experience with: β€’ DEX tools (e.g., Nexthink, Lakeside, Aternity) β€’ Automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python) β€’ Zero Trust and endpoint security frameworks β€’ Experience working in global, regulated enterprise environments β€’ Familiarity with ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow) for EUC service integration
