Role description
Market Performance Data & MI Senior Analyst (FTC) / London / 4-6 months FTC / Start Immediate Role Purpose: Focused on delivering high-quality data analysis and management information that enables strategic decision-making and performance oversight across the market, ensuring the function’s operational and strategic priorities are achieved. The Data & MI Analyst will provide analytics and insights to the senior leadership team of Market Performance, highlighting market, syndicate or class level trends. Main responsibilities will include taking ownership for the creation of MI, providing insight and analytics into market wide trends on a quarterly basis focusing on the “so what”, and to provide the data and analytics to support external and internal presentations. Skills • Analytical capability with strong data manipulation skills (Excel, Power BI, Qliksense) • Ability to produce clear, insightful MI and performance reports for senior stakeholders • Strong communication skills – able to summarise complex data into compelling narratives • High attention to detail, demonstrating thoroughness and accuracy • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities • Effective relationship builder and sound stakeholder management skills • Proactive and self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset • Skilled in creating dashboards and visualisations to support decision-making • Ability to be creative, able to deal with complex problems and develop innovative solutions • Confidence and experience of making informed decisions • High level of data literacy competence for the storage, analysis, interpretation and presentation of data, including knowledge of business intelligence tools, e.g. Business Objects, QlikSense Knowledge • Understanding of the client and the wider (re)insurance market • Understanding of insurance P&L accounting practices and performance drivers • Understanding of data quality, data governance, and MI best practices • An understanding of portfolio management and how it operates within syndicate business plans • Technical underwriting expertise and knowledge Experience • Proven experience in producing MI and preparing reporting packs to different stakeholders • Experience in analysing market, syndicate, or class-level performance data • Track record of supporting strategic decision-making through data insights • Demonstrated ability to contribute to continuous improvement of reporting and analytics processes • Experience working collaboratively across teams to deliver high-quality outputs • Track record of achieving high professional standards
