We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst / Data Analyst to join a Market Risk Technology team supporting critical risk management initiatives within a global financial institution. This role sits at the intersection of Market Risk, Data Analytics, and Technology, partnering closely with Risk Managers, Technology teams, and business stakeholders to deliver strategic solutions, enhance risk reporting capabilities, and support regulatory initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong Market Risk domain expertise, hands-on data analysis skills, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable technology solutions. This is a highly visible role requiring strong stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment. Job Title: Market Risk Technology Consultant (BA/DA) Location: Rutherford, NJ (Hybrid) Duration: 06 Months (Possible Extension/Comversion) Key Responsibilities • Partner with Market Risk Managers and business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements. • Support strategic Market Risk technology initiatives, enhancements, and regulatory-driven projects. • Perform detailed data analysis to investigate risk metrics, identify trends, and explain unexpected movements in risk results. • Analyze and support Market Risk measures including Value-at-Risk (VaR), Stress Testing, Scenario Analysis, and related risk reporting processes. • Collaborate with technology teams to clarify requirements, support development efforts, and ensure successful project delivery. • Create business requirements documents, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria. • Facilitate stakeholder discussions and act as a liaison between business users and technology teams. • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect resolution, and implementation activities. • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support business decision-making and risk analysis. • Represent the Market Risk Technology team in cross-functional meetings and project forums. Required Qualifications • 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or related role within financial services. • Strong understanding of Market Risk concepts and methodologies. • Hands-on experience supporting Market Risk functions and processes. • Experience working with: • Value-at-Risk (VaR) • Stress Testing • Scenario Analysis • Risk Reporting and Analytics • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as: • FRTB • CCAR • Other Market Risk regulatory requirements • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills. • Experience with SQL for data querying and analysis. • Working knowledge of Python for data analysis, automation, or scripting. • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI/visualization tools. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to work independently and drive initiatives with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting Market Risk Technology platforms. • Exposure to risk data management and regulatory reporting initiatives. • Experience working in Agile environments. • Familiarity with cloud-based analytics and reporting solutions.
