Senior Data Governance Analyst
Salt Lake City, Utah (On-site)
Contract to Hire
$50 - $53 per hour contract with a conversion salary of $105K to $110K + bonus
Summary
The Senior Data Governance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of enterprise master data across systems and platforms. This role leads the development and enforcement of data governance standards, drives data quality and cleansing initiatives, and partners closely with cross-functional teams to support reporting and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in data governance, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence data practices at scale while mentoring junior team members.
Responsibilities
• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of data governance controls, tools, and reporting dashboards.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve complex data integrity issues while driving enterprise-wide data cleansing initiatives.
• Provide strategic guidance on master data design, governance frameworks, and process improvements.
• Oversee data validation, stewardship processes, and recurring reporting cycles to ensure accuracy across systems.
• Partner with business, IT, and analytics teams to enforce data standards and support strategic reporting initiatives.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to enterprise data governance training and enablement efforts.
• Monitor data quality metrics and recommend corrective actions to continuously improve data reliability and usability.
Requirements
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or enterprise data management.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools such as Power BI.
• Hands-on experience working with enterprise systems, including SAP, Snowflake, and Dayforce.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex data sets.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week.
Bonus Skills
• Experience working in cloud-based data environments.
• Familiarity with metadata management frameworks and tools.
• Background in data stewardship programs or enterprise data governance operating models.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate data issues into actionable business insights.
• Experience supporting large, cross-functional organizations with complex data ecosystems.
