JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Maintenance Technician III
Location: Painted Post, NY 14870
Duration: 12 Months (365 Days) (W2 Contract)
Job Summary
β’ Work closely with the measurements group to develop approaches for data manipulation to assist with production and quality feedback.
β’ Develop software and image processing algorithms for inspection technology.
β’ Transfer technology from early-stage development to a product suitable for use in manufacturing.
β’ Create/update documentation for release to production for applications and procedures.
β’ Train engineering, maintenance, and operations teams on developed applications and procedures.
β’ Provide remote and onsite troubleshooting using data and performance analysis of deployed applications.
Required Qualifications (Must-Have)
β’ Bachelorβs degree required (preferred advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, ECE, or Optics)
β’ Strong programming skills in C# and Python
β’ Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and software architecture concepts
β’ Knowledge of image processing algorithms (blob analysis, edge detection, morphology, feature extraction, classification, metrology)
β’ Experience in data retrieval, plotting, and analysis
β’ Strong communication and presentation skills (MS Office tools)
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
β’ Experience with image processing tools such as Halcon or OpenCV
β’ Ability to train CNNs and apply machine learning methods
β’ Knowledge of statistical analysis and MEE concepts
β’ Experience with Database Management Systems
β’ Exposure to metrology, inspection, and product quality in manufacturing
β’ Experience in optical measurement systems (optics, lighting, cameras, image acquisition, laser, 3D measurement)
β’ Fundamental understanding of physical optics principles
Key Responsibilities
β’ Develop data manipulation approaches for production and quality feedback
β’ Design and implement image processing algorithms for inspection systems
β’ Transition R&D solutions into manufacturing-ready applications
β’ Maintain and update technical documentation for production release
β’ Train engineering, maintenance, and operations teams
β’ Troubleshoot deployed applications using performance and data analysis
β’ Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and work independently
β’ Maintain a results-oriented approach with strong multitasking ability
