Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains consultant 6 months remote project Job Description: Great Plains Resource with Strong SQL Skill Set Job Type Contract Location: Remote Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled professional with strong expertise in Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) and advanced SQL development skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing our ERP environment, ensuring data integrity, developing custom reports, and integrating Dynamics GP with other systems — including complex integrations with Dynamics 365 (D365). Key Responsibilities • Dynamics GP Support & Maintenance • Manage daily operations of Microsoft Dynamics GP, including troubleshooting, user support, and system configuration. • Perform upgrades, patches, and module installations as needed. • Collaborate with finance, operations, and IT teams to streamline processes and optimize GP functionality. • SQL Development & Reporting • Design, develop, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts to support data analysis and reporting. • Integration & Data Management • Support data migration, ETL processes, and system integrations with Dynamics GP. • Maintain database performance, security, and backups. • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency. • Design, implement, and support complex integrations between Dynamics GP and Dynamics 365 (Business Central, Finance & Operations, CRM), ensuring smooth data flow across financial, operational, and customer-facing systems. • Stakeholder Collaboration • Work closely with business users to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions. • Provide training and documentation for end users and internal teams. Required Skills & Qualifications • Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) administration and customization. • Strong proficiency in SQL Server (T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS). • Experience with GP modules such as Financials, Inventory, Purchasing, and Payroll. • Experience in integrating GP with Dynamics 365 applications • Solid understanding of ERP workflows, accounting principles, and business processes. • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across GP and SQL environments. • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Dynamics 365 applications beyond GP integration (Finance & Operations, Business Central, CRM). • Familiarity with Power Platform tools including Power Automate (workflow automation) and Power Apps (custom applications). • Experience with Power BI for data visualization. • Familiarity with Dynamics GP third-party add-ons (e.g., Management Reporter, eConnect, Integration Manager). • Knowledge of cloud migration strategies for Dynamics GP. • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or related field.
