Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Salt Lake City, UT (Hybrid/Onsite)
Overview
We are seeking a Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer to design and deliver end-to-end reporting solutions using Azure Cosmos DB, Synapse Analytics, and Power BI. This is a shorter-term contract role based in Salt Lake City, UT.
What You'll Do
• Architect scalable and cost-effective reporting solutions using Azure technologies.
• Configure and optimize Synapse Link for Cosmos DB, enabling real-time analytics without disrupting transactional workloads.
• Build data pipelines with Azure Data Factory for ingestion, transformation, and loading.
• Develop Power BI data models, DAX measures, and interactive dashboards.
• Write efficient T-SQL queries in Synapse Serverless SQL Pools.
• Tune performance across Synapse and Power BI to ensure fast, reliable reporting.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Required Skills
• Strong expertise in Azure Cosmos DB, Synapse Analytics, and SQL.
• Proven experience building and optimizing Power BI solutions (DAX, data modeling, Power Query).
• Solid background in Azure Data Factory for ETL pipeline development.
• Ability to handle full lifecycle delivery from design to deployment.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with very large datasets and performance optimization.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Familiarity with Spark Pools (PySpark or similar).
