Job Description: Microsoft Fabric Consultant Location: Iselin, NJ (Hybrid – Onsite 3 days/week) Duration: 6+ Months (Extension Expected) Engagement: Contract (1099 or C2C) Rate: Open Overview Our client is seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Fabric Consultant with capabilities aligned to the DP‑600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer) and/or DP‑700 (Fabric Data Engineer) certification tracks. This role will support the design, build, and optimization of enterprise‑scale analytics solutions leveraging the full Microsoft Fabric ecosystem. The ideal consultant brings hands‑on experience across Lakehouse, Data Engineering, Data Factory, Power BI, governance, and workload optimization. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence in Iselin, NJ three days per week. Key Responsibilities • Architect and implement end‑to‑end solutions across Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Data Factory, Dataflows, Pipelines, and Power BI. • Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines aligned with DP‑700 competencies (ingestion, transformation, orchestration). • Develop semantic models, datasets, and analytics layers aligned with DP‑600 competencies (DAX, modeling, performance tuning). • Implement OneLake best practices, including Delta Lake optimization and workspace governance. • Establish and enforce data governance, security, lineage, and workspace administration standards. • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable Fabric solutions. • Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize Fabric workloads for reliability and cost efficiency. • Provide documentation, knowledge transfer, and guidance to internal teams on Fabric adoption. • Support roadmap planning, new feature enablement, and long‑term platform evolution. Required Skills & Experience • 5–10+ years in data engineering, BI, or analytics, with hands‑on Microsoft Fabric experience. Strong proficiency in: • Fabric Lakehouse / Delta Lake • Data Factory pipelines & orchestration • Power BI (datasets, DAX, modeling, governance) • OneLake architecture & Fabric capacities • Advanced SQL and data modeling skills. • Experience integrating Fabric with Azure SQL, Synapse, Databricks, APIs, and enterprise data sources. • Understanding of Fabric governance, security, workspace management, and deployment pipelines. • Ability to work onsite in Iselin, NJ 3 days per week. Preferred Qualifications • DP‑600 or DP‑700 certification (or equivalent hands‑on mastery). • Experience with Azure Data Services (ADF, ADLS, Synapse, Databricks). • Prior consulting experience or enterprise‑scale transformation project work. • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with both technical and business stakeholders.
