Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer | Outside IR35 | £450–£550 per day | Hybrid Bristol | 6-month initial contract
We’re working with a well-known global organisation that’s investing heavily in its commercial data capabilities. They’re looking for a contract Data Engineer to help shape and deliver a next-generation analytics platform supporting sales and marketing decision-making. This role is on a hybrid basis 2 days per week in the Bristol office.
This assignment centres on building a scalable, cloud-native data solution using Microsoft Fabric, aligned to a wider Azure landscape. You’ll play a key role within a delivery-focused team, owning engineering outputs while partnering closely with analytics specialists and senior stakeholders to deliver at pace.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, enhance and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric
• Produce robust, business-ready datasets that support downstream reporting and insight
• Introduce automation and agent-assisted development techniques where they add value
• Work alongside Power BI developers to ensure high-quality, analytics-ready data
• Contribute to GitHub-based development workflows, including CI/CD and release management
• Promote best practice across data modelling, performance, reliability, and governanceExperience & Skills Required
• Strong background delivering data engineering solutions within Azure environments
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric in a production setting
• Advanced SQL capability with complementary Python skills
• Familiarity with GitHub-driven development and collaboration practices
• Delivery-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
• Be able to attend 2 days per week on site in the Bristol office.Technology Stack
