Microsoft Fabric Senior Developer — ADF & Medallion Architecture Rosemont, IL (2-3 Days Hybrid) 6+ Months Contract Job Description: Overall 9+ Years exp. required. Core Skills & Expertise: • Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse architecture (OneLake) • Medallion Architecture: Bronze, Silver, Gold layers • Azure Data Factory (ADF) – ETL / ELT pipelines • Fabric Dataflows, Fabric Notebooks • Spark (PySpark / Scala) and Advanced SQL • Incremental data processing, schema evolution • Delta Lake, ADLS Gen2, OneLake storage • Data modeling and transformations • Data quality checks and validation frameworks Platform & Engineering: • End-to-end data platform design and implementation • Scalable, high-performance data pipelines • Spark job performance tuning and optimization • Cost optimization for Fabric compute and storage • Event-driven and scheduled orchestration Governance, Security & DevOps: • Data governance, lineage, cataloging • RBAC, access controls, encryption • CI/CD pipelines using Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions • Monitoring, alerting, automated testing • Deployment automation and runbook documentation Collaboration & Leadership: • Cross-functional collaboration with BI, Data Science, Product teams • Technical mentoring and code/design reviews • Strong stakeholder communication skills Tools & Technologies • Microsoft Fabric (Data Engineering, Data Factory, Notebooks) • Azure Data Factory • Spark, SQL • Azure Monitor • Power BI • Databricks (value add) • Purview • Great Expectations (Data Quality) Experience & Qualifications • 5+ years in Data Engineering or related roles • Strong Fabric or Lakehouse architecture experience • Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, Data Science (preferred) • Microsoft Azure Data Engineer / Fabric certifications (preferred)
