Key responsibilities
β’ Design and development: Create interactive and dynamic reports, dashboards and scorecards using MicroStrategy Web Desktop and Mobile
β’ Requirements gathering: Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into functional specifications
β’ Data modelling and analysis, Design and develop semantic models, create and modify attribute hierarchies and facts and write and optimise complex SQL queries to extract data from various sources.
β’ Maintenance and support: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing BI solutions, provide technical support to end-users and perform maintenance on MicroStrategy environments.
β’ Testing and deployment: Develop test cases, perform unit and performance testing and support the deployment and post-production phases of projects
β’ Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and user manuals
β’ Process improvement: Stay updated on the latest MicroStrategy features and recommend process improvements and automation opportunities
Required skills and qualifications
β’ Proficiency in MicroStrategy development tools and components, eg Desktop designer, Web Reporter, Mobile
β’ Strong SQL and data modelling skills
β’ Experience with the full software development lifecycle SDLC
β’ Experience with creating complex reports and dashboards
β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
β’ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
β’ A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is often required
Tableau Admin
Key responsibilities
β’ Platform management: Install, configure, upgrade and maintain Tableau Server Cloud environments
β’ User and security management: Manage user accounts, groups, roles and permissions to ensure data security and compliance with policies. Implement and support Single Sign-On SSO and Active Directory AD integration
β’ Performance and optimisation: Monitor server health performance and resource utilisation. Troubleshoot issues, optimise performance bottlenecks and implement solutions for high availability and disaster recovery
β’ Content and extract administration, manage scheduled data extracts, data connections and workflows. Support users in publishing dashboards and workbooks
β’ Support and training: Provide technical support, training and guidance to users on using Tableau effectively
β’ Compliance and governance: Work with IT and data teams to implement data governance and compliance practices
β’ Documentation and best practices: Develop and document standards and best practices for the platform
Required skills and experience
β’ Technical expertise Proficiency with Tableau Server Cloud, including installation, configuration and maintenance
β’ Scripting and automation Experience with scripting tools like PowerShell to automate administrative tasks
β’ Performance tuning: Ability to monitor and optimise server performance and troubleshoot issues
β’ Security awareness, Strong understanding of data security principles and best practices
