About the Role
CCST is seeking a Mid-Level Business Analyst to support the New York State Information Technology Services (NYS ITS) in the MENA Program. The analyst will play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the agency through analytics, dashboard development, and business intelligence (BI) support. This role blends business analysis with hands-on data work — perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of data, reporting, and strategic operations.
What You’ll Do
Collaborate with project managers, technical leads, and stakeholders to perform data analysis, interpretation, and reporting to support agency operations.
Design and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI to identify trends, deliver insights, and measure the impact of agency initiatives.
Develop and promote best practices for data management and analysis across the organization.
Manage ad-hoc data requests, extracts, and custom reporting needs.
Analyze and clean data from multiple sources; measure findings against KPIs and strategic goals.
Evaluate data reliability and usability; ensure quality and consistency across datasets.
Support data modeling and integration efforts to identify trends and patterns in key datasets.
Partner with business stakeholders to present and explain data insights effectively.
Must-Have Qualifications
36+ months in Business Intelligence (BI) development, including data querying, report generation, and solution creation.
36+ months in data analysis — interpretation, management, and reporting.
36+ months creating Power BI dashboards and visual reports.
36+ months of experience presenting or communicating data insights to stakeholders.
24+ months of experience with SQL querying and data validation.
24+ months experience in data modeling and identifying trends/patterns.
24+ months working on data or application integration initiatives.
Nice-to-Haves
Familiarity with data governance frameworks and standards.
Knowledge of NYS ITS systems or similar public-sector environments.
Experience with ETL processes or BI tool administration.
Background in data quality or metadata management.
Tech Stack You’ll Touch
Power BI, SQL Server, Excel, Data Warehouse environments, and data integration tools.
