Role description
Duration: 9+ Months
Location: MN-Minneapolis, Hybrid 3-4 days onsite
Overview: Every Turnberry consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services Turnberry offers to clients. As a Mid-Level Data Engineer, you will join Turnberry's Data Strategy and Intelligence practice and service. This service provides insights into company data, advanced analytics solutions, robust data governance, and tailored solutions for specific data challenges.
Responsibilities
• Design and implement data architectures that support business objectives
• Develop data pipelines and ETL processes to move and transform data across systems
• Create and maintain data models and schemas
• Data Validation/Troubleshooting: Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy - data validation is the critical hurdle to complete prior to production deployment and will take up about 40% of time for these resources
• Knowledge Transfer Documentation: Produce runbooks, architecture diagrams, and parity validation playbooks for each application touched
• Code Review: Ensure all changes are peer-reviewed; database schema or engine changes will require senior approval prior to deployment
• Production Access: Follow change management process for all write/production updates
• On-call Support: Provide 24x7 error handling through an on-call rotation process when failures occur
Qualifications
• At least 3 years of relevant Data Engineering experience
• STRONG Oracle PL/SQL skills (dynamic SQL, partitioned tables, performance tuning, restartable processes)
• Banking/Finance domain fluency (ADB math, General Ledger structure, managerial ledger, MTD accumulation)
• Intermediate or above Python skills
• Some Cloud experience (ideally AWS)
Preferred Qualifications
• Databricks, PySpark, AWS S3 experience/skills
• COBOL literacy (note, if candidate doesn't have this, must be willing to quickly get up to speed with reading COBAL using AI tools)
The salary range for this role is $110,000 to $155,000 or the hourly equivalent.
