MongoDB Database Administrator

Our client, a leader in financial services, is seeking a Database Engineer IV- to join their team. As a Database Engineer IV-, you will be part of the Data Infrastructure Support team supporting enterprise database management and migration projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach to technical challenges, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: MongoDB Database Engineer IV- Location: Berkeley Heights, NJ (Onsite) What's the Job? • Build and manage sharded MongoDB servers, ensuring high availability and performance. • Support database migrations from other systems to MongoDB, including automation and scripting tasks. • Implement and maintain horizontal scaling, sharding, and replication strategies. • Monitor database health, validate configurations, and optimize performance. • Engage with vendors for triage support during migration and operational issues. What's Needed? • At least 5 years of experience in MongoDB database administration within enterprise environments. • Proficiency with mongodump, Ops Manager, sharding, replication, and scripting for automation. • Experience with range-based sharding and managing on-premises MongoDB clusters. • Knowledge of Atlas cloud services is a significant plus. • Ability to work in a team environment with on-call rotation and support for 12-hour shifts.
