Working Hours: 8:30-5:30 EST - flexible if a different time zone

Roles and Responsibilities:
β’ Maintain the reliability, performance, and integrity of our MySQL database systems.
β’ Manage PHP-based integrations between the database and external systems such as Zoho, our SaaS platform, and WordPress.
β’ Implement and monitor automated ETL workflows, data pipelines, and sync jobs.
β’ Collaborate on long-term data architecture planning, with a potential emphasis on Azure-based data warehouse options (e.g., Synapse, Azure SQL, Data Factory).
β’ Proactively detect and resolve performance issues, sync failures, or schema inconsistencies.
β’ Ensure best practices for security, access control, backup, and recovery.
β’ Support reporting, compliance, and data validation requirements.
β’ Document system architecture, data flows, and integration logic.
Must Have Technical Skills:
β’ Strong experience managing MySQL in production environments.
β’ Proficiency in PHP, especially for working with legacy integration scripts.
β’ Experience working in Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Azure Active Directory, PowerShell basics).
β’ Familiarity with RESTful APIs and webhook-driven integrations.
β’ Experience with Azure services such as Azure SQL, Azure Blob Storage, and Data Factory.
β’ Ability to optimize queries, tune indexes, and manage schema changes with minimal downtime.
Flex Skills/Nice to Have:
β’ Experience with Zoho CRM, Billing, or Desk APIs.
β’ Knowledge of WordPress database structures and plugin integrations.
β’ Familiarity with Git, Power BI, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
β’ Exposure to cloud data warehouse solutions like Azure Synapse, Snowflake, or Redshift.
β’ Python scripting for ETL workflows or file/data manipulation.
β’ Knowledge of Microsoftβs broader data stack (SSIS, ADF, SQL Server).
β’ Familiarity with modern full-stack environments, particularly apps built with Next.js, Tailwind CSS, TypeScript, Drizzle ORM, and validation tools like Zod.

MySQL certifications or equivalent experience in open-source RDBMS administration is preferred.
