Next.js Developer (contractor / Freelance)

We are looking for an experienced Next.js developer contractor with strong headless CMS skills to support ongoing website development tasks. This is a temporary freelance/contract role with immediate start, focusing on delivering high-quality, maintainable code for a live production environment. Key Responsibilities • Implement new pages, features, and enhancements using Next.js, React, and Prismic • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to scope, estimate, and deliver tasks on time • Ensure clean, maintainable, and consciously AI generated code (avoiding bloat and unnecessary dependencies) • Debug and resolve issues in production and staging environments • Support the integration of APIs, services, and third-party tools as needed. Required Skills & Experience • 3+ years of professional experience with Next.js and React in typescript • Proven track record of launching multiple Next.js projects in production • Solid experience with Prismic as a headless CMS (custom types, slices, API integration) • Familiarity with server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG) patterns • Strong grasp of performance optimisation for React/Next.js apps • Experience with version control (Git) • Clear communication skills and ability to work autonomously. Nice-to-Have Skills • Experience working with Cursor or Claude Code alongside with Figma MC • Experience with GitHub Actions pipelines • Familiarity with content modelling in Prismic • Understanding of AWS ECS deployments, containerisation, and related AWS services • Awareness of SEO best practices in modern JavaScript frameworks.
