Role description
Job Title: O365 Engineer
Location: Seattle, willing to work onsite 3-4 days a week
Duration: 6 months
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs to integrate Microsoft 365 services with third-party platforms and internal applications.
β’ Automate administrative tasks and workflows using PowerShell and Python for Office 365 environments.
β’ Query, manipulate, and manage datasets using SQL, NoSQL, and other modern data tools for reporting, analysis, and automation.
β’ Collaborate with IT and business teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions within Microsoft 365.
β’ Monitor, maintain, and optimize O365 services and configurations to ensure high availability and performance.
β’ Create technical documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams for developed tools, scripts, and integration solutions.
β’ Implement security and compliance best practices across Office 365 services.
β’ Troubleshoot complex issues related to identity, mail flow, Teams, and SharePoint integrations.
β’ Work closely with data engineers, cloud architects, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless data connectivity across systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
β’ Proven experience as an Office 365 Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or similar role.
β’ Strong expertise in REST API development and integration with cloud-based platforms.
β’ Proficient in PowerShell scripting and Python programming for automation and tooling.
β’ Strong hands-on experience with SQL databases (e.g., MSSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL systems (e.g., Cosmos DB, MongoDB).
β’ Deep understanding of Office 365 services: Exchange Online, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Azure Active Directory.
β’ Solid knowledge of data querying tools (e.g., Kusto Query Language, Graph API, Microsoft Graph Explorer).
β’ Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps tooling, and version control (e.g., Git).
β’ Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Microsoft certifications such as MS-500, MS-700, AZ-104, or AZ-400.
β’ Experience integrating Microsoft 365 with platforms like Slack, Google Workspace, or ServiceNow.
β’ Knowledge of Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps) is a plus.
β’ Experience with log analytics, SIEMs, or monitoring tools is a bonus.
