An Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining business intelligence solutions, including dashboards, interactive reports, and semantic data models (RPD).
The role involves translating business requirements into technical designs, optimizing SQL performance, and managing security and access within the OAS environment.
Core responsibilities typically include BI Publisher reporting, data modeling, and close collaboration with DBA and data engineering teams.
OAS Development: Build and maintain the physical, logical, and presentation layers in the Oracle BI Repository (RPD), leveraging Multi-User Development Environment (MUDE) for collaborative development.
Visualization: Create interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Oracle Analytics Server and BI Publisher.
Data Modeling & SQL: Develop, refine, and optimize complex SQL queries and data models for high-performance analytics.
Security & Administration: Configure object-level and row-level security and manage user access rights across the OAS platform.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business analysts, data engineers, and DBAs to convert requirements into reliable, actionable insights.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Platform Expertise: Strong understanding of OAS platform components, including Enterprise Manager and WebLogic Console.
Tools & Technologies: Experience with Oracle BI Publisher, Oracle BI Applications, and OBIEE.
Database Proficiency: Advanced Oracle SQL and PL/SQL skills, with a solid foundation in database performance tuning.
Experience: Typically requires 5+ years of hands-on experience in data modeling and business intelligence reporting.
