OBSERVABILITY SRE ENGINEER

Position: Observability Engineer Location: New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA( 3 Days onsite) Duration: 18+ Months Contract Job Description: Observability Engineer 10+ years only You have a passion for Observability and SRE practices. You have opinions on how best to implement logs, metrics, and trace as both a consumer and operator of that data. You are a dedicated team player, who believes in collaboration as key to any successful engineering engagement. Your Day-to-Day: ● Design, tune, deploy Observability tooling within our Kubernetes environments ● Participate in team AGILE ceremonies ● Engage with other engineering teams to adopt Observability practices and enable upcoming feature work ● Design and document the standards governing usage of logs, metrics, traces, and other Observability data within our platform ● Participate in on-call rotation in support of our platforms Observability services ● Tune our Observability workloads to support high-traffic live events Qualifications: What you bring to the team: ● Bachelors degree or equivalent experience ● A strong desire to work in a geographically separated team who strives to maintain a high level of collaboration, communication and promotes a healthy culture. ● 10+ years experience on an infrastructure or SRE team ● 4+ years leading the design and implementation of Cloud systems in GCP using tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, Helm, or Kustomize ● 4+ years experience working with monitoring, logging, and visualization tooling, such as Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, Datadog, Splunk, etc.. ● 2+ years experience programming in a programming language such as Python, Java, and Go ● Ability to own and manage a projects lifecycle from inception to completion ● Experience working with AGILE software development methodologies You may also have: ● Experience working as an application developer with focuses on instrumentation, data transport, and/or performance ● Exposure to incident management and ITIL ● Experience with data engineering, visualization, or analysis Skills Mandatory Skills : Infrastructure or SRE team, design and implementation of Cloud systems in GCP using tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, Helm, or Kustomize
