Job Description
An Open Metadata expert will help Citi manage and leverage their data effectively by ensuring proper metadata is created, maintained, and utilized across various systems. They work with data teams and stakeholders to establish metadata standards, improve data discovery, data lineage, data quality, and enhance data governance practices using Open Metadata solutions.
Key Responsibilities of an Open Metadata Expert:
Metadata Strategy and Implementation: Develop and implement metadata management strategies, including defining metadata standards, naming conventions, and business definitions in line with organizational policies.
Metadata Creation and Enrichment: Oversee the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of metadata across multiple platforms and systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Data Discovery and Governance: Facilitate data discovery by improving metadata quality and consistency, and support data governance initiatives through metadata management.
Data Lineage and Impact Analysis: Assist in defining and managing data lineage, identifying relationships between data elements across systems, and supporting impact analysis.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to teams on metadata tools and best practices, promoting a data-centric culture within the organization.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with data owners, stewards, architects, and technology teams to ensure alignment on metadata management practices and drive data stewardship.
