Role description
The Role Are you an experienced Data Analyst? Are you passionate about turning data into meaningful insight and driving better decisions? As a Data and Insight Analyst, you will play a key role in the development and delivery of operational reporting and insight that drives informed decision-making across the organisation. You’ll join our data and insight team, a small, supportive group that plays a vital role across Social Work England, working with managers, senior leaders and operational teams to provide clear, accurate and impactful insights. About The Role As our Data and Insight Analyst, you’ll contribute to the development and delivery of analytical projects, supporting the Senior Analyst and helping us improve how we collect, understand and use data. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation to help shape reporting, improve data quality, and ensure teams can access the insights they need. This includes developing Power BI reports, analysing trends, producing performance dashboards, and supporting consistent data documentation and modelling. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving analytical problems, improving reporting processes and communicating insights in a clear, accessible way. What you'll do As Data And Insight Analyst, You Will • Support operational reporting, improving and maintaining queries and visualisations in Power BI. • Work with the data and insight team and the Data Governance Manager to strengthen data documentation, business logic and modelling. • Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to support consistent, collaborative use of data and insight. • Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends and make practical recommendations to managers and senior leaders. • Identify reporting requirements and work with the Senior Analyst to develop specifications for Power BI and Excel reports. • Produce monthly performance reports that inform organisational decision-making. • Ensure colleagues across the organisation can access and understand the data they need. For This Role, We’re Looking For Someone Who • Has a degree in a subject involving quantitative analysis or data science, or equivalent professional experience. • Has experience using Power BI and DAX to transform or analyse data. Experience using Excel and MySQL. • Can interpret and present complex information clearly, using data visualisation to produce high-quality insight. • Understands how performance reporting and analysis supports business planning and improvement. • Can think critically and creatively to develop effective solutions to analytical problems. • Brings strong written and verbal communication skills and can explain complex ideas to a wide range of audiences. • Demonstrates a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusive service delivery.
