Job Title: Data Analyst Job Location: Oakland, CA(Hybrid) Job Duration: 4+months Description: Data Management Analyst Location Requirement: • Only candidates currently residing in the Bay Area / near Oakland • Assignment is Hybrid • Required onsite at Oakland General Office (OGO) – 3 days per week Top Priorities • Dashboards and Reporting • Data Governance • Records Management • Audit & Audit-Ready Documentation • Tracker Accuracy • Trend Analysis • Root Cause Analysis • Folder Structures • Data Logging Taxonomy • Logging Automation Core Competencies Required • Strong Problem-Solving Skills • Critical Thinking • Nimble and Adaptable • Tenacious • Curious Mindset • Ability to Navigate Ambiguity Key Responsibilities • Manage standard, routine data analysis projects from initial request through presentation of results with limited supervision, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery • Collaborate with Data Management Analysts to process, analyze, and report findings • Create automated data routines and reporting processes to ensure accurate data manipulation and cleansing • Manage standard data extracts and list pulls, ensuring data accuracy • Transfer data from databases to analysts to support operational analysis efforts • Apply data processing and analysis techniques to generate ad hoc reports, statistics, trends, and profiles • Develop and communicate clear, concise, and actionable data analyses to stakeholders Education Requirements • BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field • Equivalent work experience may be considered Minimum Experience • 2+ years of related work experience Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Familiarity with utility operations • Advanced Microsoft Excel/Access skills (complex formulas, graphing, VBA) • Strong SQL skills (Oracle or Business Objects) • Power BI dashboard development • KPI and metric development & reporting • UNIX shell programming (csh, awk, sed, vi) • Knowledge of Base SAS and programming languages such as Visual Basic, Perl, or C • Ability to analyze, interpret, and clearly communicate data findings
