Our client, a ridesharing company in Toronto, is looking for an Operations Merchandising Specialist for a long-term contract. In this position, you will play a critical role in driving in-app merchandising innovation and delivering compelling consumer experiences. You will identify and execute merchandising opportunities that align with key strategic moments, using a blend of analytical rigor, operational execution, and creative thinking. Working cross-functionally with strategy, product, and content teams, youβll bring merchandising strategies to life across a variety of in-app surfaces. This role requires a structured and data-informed mindset, strong SQL proficiency, and the ability to extract insights from large datasets to optimize performance. With a background spanning operations, data analytics, and digital merchandising, you will help shape how customers discover and engage with content in a dynamic, digital environment.
Responsibilities:
β’ Identify high-impact merchandising opportunities aligned with business goals and consumer behavior patterns.
β’ Execute merchandising campaigns and initiatives across in-app surfaces, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
β’ Partner with product, design, marketing, and engineering teams to develop and implement innovative merchandising strategies.
β’ Analyze merchandising performance and consumer engagement using large datasets; provide actionable insights to improve outcomes.
β’ Use SQL to extract, manipulate, and interpret data to support decision-making and reporting.
β’ Develop scalable operational processes and tools to streamline merchandising execution and optimization.
β’ Monitor and iterate on merchandising placements based on performance data, testing results, and user feedback.
β’ Drive continuous improvement through experimentation and A/B testing to uncover best practices.
Required Qualifications:
β’ 5+ years of experience in digital merchandising, data analysis, or a related field.
β’ Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience navigating and analyzing large datasets.
β’ Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, or similar).
β’ Demonstrated ability to identify and implement merchandising strategies that improve user engagement and business KPIs.
β’ Experience operating in cross-functional teams with a mix of creative, technical, and strategic stakeholders.
β’ Strong organizational and project management skills with high attention to detail.
β’ Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
β’ A mix of structured thinking and creative problem-solving; experience driving innovation in merchandising is a plus.
