Role description
We are seeking an Oracle Database Application Analyst to support financial systems and data warehouse initiatives. This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing database applications that support financial and actuarial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, technically strong, and comfortable working across business, finance, and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Maintain and enhance internal financial reporting database applications
β’ Support implementation and enhancements for new and existing products
β’ Automate reporting processes and ensure accuracy of financial data
β’ Manage and support monthly data warehouse loads
β’ Develop control processes and produce both automated and ad hoc reports
β’ Translate complex business and actuarial requirements into technical solutions
β’ Partner with cross functional teams across business, finance, and technology
β’ Provide L2 and L3 production support for Oracle database applications
β’ Manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to critical system needs
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree preferred with at least 2 years of experience in database application development or database administration
β’ Strong proficiency in Oracle (11g/19c), including Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, SQL Plus, and SQL Loader
β’ Experience working in Linux environments, including shell scripting
β’ Hands on experience with TOAD
β’ Advanced Excel skills, including VLookup and macros
β’ Experience with scheduling tools such as ESP or Stonebranch UAC is a plus
β’ Familiarity with MS Access and Python is preferred
β’ Exposure to life insurance products or financial services is a plus
β’ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills
β’ Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across teams
β’ High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and validation
