Role description
Job Title: Oracle Database Engineer / Administrator (DBA) Location: Alpharetta – Hybrid (3 Days Onsite) Duration: 12+ Months Contract Visa: US Citizen / GC / H4 EAD Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Oracle Database Engineer / DBA (NO Developers) to support mission-critical production environments. The ideal candidate will act as an Oracle SME, ensuring database stability, performance, security, and high availability across enterprise systems. Key Responsibilities • Provide technical guidance and support to application teams • Install, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle DBMS components • Manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, OEM, Partitioning • Handle replication setup & troubleshooting (GoldenGate / HVR) • Perform backup, recovery, refresh, and disaster recovery operations • Write and deploy SQL patches • Monitor systems: logs, locks, traces, disk space, performance metrics • Conduct performance tuning and query optimization • Implement auditing, security, and access controls • Troubleshoot database crashes, log full issues, and system failures • Automate DBA tasks using Shell, Python, Ansible, etc. • Review daily/weekly/monthly database health reports • Ensure production uptime and SLA compliance Technical Requirements Must Have: • Strong Oracle DBA experience (7–10+ years preferred) • Expertise in Installation, Upgrade & Patching of: • Oracle RAC • Data Guard • RMAN • ASM • OEM • Hands-on Linux administration experience • Disaster Recovery setup and failover experience • Performance tuning & query optimization expertise • Automation/Scripting: Shell, Python, Ansible Good to Have: • Redis or other NoSQL databases • Experience with CI/CD or DevOps best practices Key Skills • Strong troubleshooting & debugging ability • Production support experience • Attention to detail & urgency-driven mindset • Strong communication skills • Experience working in Banking / Financial Services environments preferred ⚠ Important: This role is strictly for a hands-on Oracle DBA.
