Please find the job details below and forward me your updated resume along with your contact details ajeet@realtekconsulting.net Role: Oracle DB to GCP Lead Migration Engineer Experience: 10 – 12 Years Location :: Remote Industry: IT Services / Cloud Migration (Healthcare domain experience is a plus) Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Migration Engineer with 10–12 years of experience to lead and execute end-to-end Oracle Database migration projects to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in database migration strategies, performance optimization, and cloud-native services on GCP. Experience in the healthcare domain will be considered a strong advantage. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage end-to-end Oracle database migration projects from on-premises or other environments to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). • Design, plan, and execute migration strategies, ensuring minimal downtime and high data integrity. • Perform database assessments, schema conversions, data migration, validation, and performance tuning. • Leverage GCP services such as Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Datastream, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub for data ingestion, transformation, and storage. • Define and implement best practices for security, compliance, backup, and disaster recovery in GCP. • Collaborate with application, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth integration of migrated databases into the existing ecosystem. • Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline migration and validation processes. • Troubleshoot complex migration issues and provide technical leadership to resolve challenges. • Document migration processes, architecture diagrams, and operational guidelines. • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership throughout the migration lifecycle. Required Skills & Experience: • 10–12 years of overall IT experience, with strong hands-on expertise in Oracle database administration and migration. • Proven experience in migrating large-scale Oracle databases to GCP. • Deep understanding of database architecture, data modeling, schema design, performance tuning, and PL/SQL. • Hands-on experience with GCP migration tools (such as Datastream, Database Migration Service, Dataflow). • Knowledge of data replication, backup/restore, and DR strategies in cloud environments. • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Terraform/Deployment Manager, and scripting (Python, Shell) for automation. • Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, VPC networking, and compliance requirements. • Excellent communication and leadership skills with experience in client-facing roles. • Ability to work in Agile environments and lead cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications: • Healthcare industry experience – strong plus. • GCP certifications such as Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect. • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and BigQuery optimization. • Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud migration projects. Soft Skills: • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
