Application Developer – Oracle APEX We are seeking an experienced Application Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise web applications using Oracle Application Express (APEX). The ideal candidate will bring expertise in building scalable, secure, and user-friendly solutions in Oracle APEX, along with strong skills in JavaScript, SQL, and PL/SQL. This position reports to the Director of Information Technology Development and is initially planned as a four-month engagement, with the possibility of extension. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and deploy Oracle APEX applications that align with business requirements and adhere to best practices. • Collaborate with end-users and IT teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement features. • Maintain and enhance existing Oracle APEX applications; troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner. • Develop database objects such as tables, views, procedures, and triggers using SQL and PL/SQL. • Integrate Oracle APEX applications with other enterprise systems and data sources (e.g., REST/SOAP APIs, Web Services). • Create and maintain technical documentation, including data models, processes, and user guides. • Participate in code reviews, quality assurance, and deployment activities to ensure high-quality deliverables. • Provide support to end-users by resolving application issues, delivering training, and gathering feedback for continuous improvement. • Stay current with Oracle APEX updates, features, and industry best practices. Required Qualifications • 5+ years of experience developing applications with Oracle APEX and working with Oracle Database products. • Proven experience with Oracle APEX (v18.2 or higher), including APEX Universal Theme for building responsive and modern user interfaces. • Strong expertise in SQL and PL/SQL, including creating and optimizing packages, procedures, functions, triggers, views, and exception handling for complex datasets. • Hands-on experience with modern web development technologies: HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, XML, and CSS. • Proficiency with REST API concepts, including developing and consuming APIs via Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS). • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including implementation, unit testing, and support. • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
