Role description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Analyst with a deep understanding of the Oracle Health Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. The ideal candidate will be an expert in data analysis techniques and SQL, with a strong background in navigating and extracting data from Cerner's complex database structures. This role is critical in transforming raw healthcare data into actionable insights that drive clinical, operational, and financial improvements. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of data-related activities, including developing and executing data extraction strategies, performing detailed data analysis, and utilizing modern cloud-based tools to manage and process large datasets. Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery is a key requirement for this position. Key Responsibilities: β€’ Cerner EHR Data Expertise: β€’ Serve as a subject matter expert on the Oracle Health Cerner EHR database structure and backend tooling/configuration. β€’ Develop and execute strategies for data extraction from Cerner, utilizing appropriate backend tools and configurations. β€’ Collaborate with clinical and operational stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements. β€’ Data Analysis and Reporting: β€’ Apply expert-level data analysis techniques to complex healthcare datasets, identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies. β€’ Develop and maintain data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to present findings to a non-technical audience. β€’ Perform root cause analysis on data quality issues and work to implement solutions to improve data integrity. β€’ SQL and Data Warehousing: β€’ Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in writing complex, optimized SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data. β€’ Work with relational databases and data warehouses, including experience with data modeling and schema design. β€’ Cloud Data Platform (GCP): β€’ Utilize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tools, with a specific focus on BigQuery (BQ), for data processing, storage, and analysis. β€’ Manage and query large-scale healthcare datasets within a GCP environment. β€’ Experience with DataVerse Clinical is a significant advantage, particularly in a GCP context. Qualifications: β€’ Experience: β€’ Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in a healthcare or health technology setting. β€’ Proven, hands-on experience with the Oracle Health Cerner EHR system, including its database structure and backend configuration. β€’ Demonstrable experience with data extraction, developing reports, and utilizing backend tooling within the Cerner ecosystem. β€’ Technical Skills: β€’ Expert-level SQL proficiency is mandatory, with the ability to write complex joins, subqueries, window functions, and optimize query performance. β€’ Expert-level knowledge of data analysis techniques and tools. β€’ Strong working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, specifically BigQuery (BQ). β€’ Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker). β€’ Soft Skills: β€’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail. β€’ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex data findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. β€’ Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. β€’ Education: β€’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
